The Jay Bryant Memorial at Oak Harbor


The second Bayou Bogey monthly tournament of the 2025 season will be held Saturday, March 15th at Oak Harbor Golf Club in Slidell, LA. There will be a shotgun start at 8:30 AM. Please arrive no later than 8:00 AM to check in.


Honoring and remembering one of the founding members of the Bayou Bogey Golf and Social Club

This tournament will also be in memory of other past club members who have gone before us.

In honor of Jay, the 17th hole will be a "tee-it-up" hole.

While playing golf at the old Audubon Park course with some of our other founding members, Kurt Klundt, Tony Montalbano and Tom Grieshaber, Jay sent his drive left and was behind a root. Thinking he was going to take a drop, Kurt started to walk towards his ball. He turned and saw Jay in the same spot swinging, which turned out to be a very nice shot. Kurt then hit his shot and as Jay came back by the cart, Kurt asked “you didn’t have to take a drop?” Jay said “no”. Surprised at the great 2nd shot from there, Kurt asked “how did you miss that root?” Jay looked at him and, as he laughed, said “it’s called a tee.”

This is the second event to qualify for the 2025 club championship. New members must play 4 events and returning members must play 3 events in order to qualify for the club championship.


Please bring $50 to pay your 2025 membership registration fee.

Fees: $52 for golf and cart, plus $10 for tournament prize fees paid to Bayou Bogey
